Trading options is very much like buying and selling stocks. However, people who BUY stock options are gambling
with their money, while people who SELL stock options are using their money intelligently. Here is the difference:
When you buy a stock option, you PAY a premium for that option. When you sell an option on stock that you own,
you are selling a covered call, and you are PAID a premium to put your stocks up for sale.
Read that again. When you SELL a covered call, you are PAID (the premium) to put your stocks up for sale.
If the price you receive for selling your stocks is the same price you paid, what happens?
You break even with the stocks, and keep the premium as PROFIT.
